Not a standard package: an installation matched to your house
Two neighbouring homes can have completely different ideal set-ups. That is why we don't start with a package, but with your roof, your usage and your plans. That way we get the most out of every panel.
Roof and orientation
We look at pitch, compass direction and shade from trees, chimneys or neighbours. South is not always the only good choice: east-west set-ups produce power spread across the day, which suits many households better.
Your usage and daily rhythm
We look at your annual consumption and when you use electricity. Are you home during the day, is a heat pump or electric car coming, or do you mainly use power in the evening? That determines which layout and size works best.
The right size
Too few panels leaves yield on the table; too many feeds a lot of power back at a low rate. Now that net metering ends in 2027, we match the system to what you use yourself.
Panels and inverter
We choose panels and an inverter that fit the available space and your situation. With a small or partly shaded roof we look at solutions that limit the losses.
Mounting and connection
We assess the roof, the roofing material and the location of the meter cupboard and inverter, and whether your connection is suitable. That avoids surprises on installation day.
Ready for later
Thinking about a battery, heat pump or charger? We take that into account in the design so you don't have to rebuild later.

Generation
The solar panels convert sunlight into electricity. An inverter then converts this into usable power for your home.

Is my roof suitable for solar panels?
Most roofs are suitable, provided there's enough surface area and sun exposure. We're happy to assess this for your specific home, free of charge.
Can I combine solar panels with a heat pump?
Yes, that's a popular combination: you use your own generated power for the heat pump, which improves the payback time of both investments.
What happens to power I don't use myself?
Surplus power is fed back to the grid, or you can store it with a home battery for use at a later moment.
What about maintenance?
Solar panels require little maintenance. We recommend having the panels checked and cleaned periodically for optimal yield.
How many solar panels do I need?
It depends on your usage, the available roof area and the orientation. As a guideline, a panel of about 400 Wp yields roughly 300 to 400 kWh a year in the Netherlands. We are happy to calculate it for your home.
How long do solar panels last?
Manufacturers typically give 25 years or more of performance warranty. In practice, panels often last longer, with a gradually slightly lower yield.
What changes with net metering?
Net metering ends on 1 January 2027. Read what that means in our article: net metering and the heat pump.
Do solar panels work when it is cloudy?
Yes. Solar panels also generate power under cloud, just less than in full sun.
Do I pay VAT on solar panels?
For homes, a VAT rate of 0% has applied since 2023 to the supply and installation of solar panels. Always check the current rules for your situation.
Do I need a home battery?
Not necessarily. A battery mainly pays off with a lot of evening usage or with a heat pump or charging station. See the page on the home battery.
Can I have solar panels installed on a rented or HOA property?
You then need permission from the landlord or the homeowners' association. Get in touch and we will discuss the options.
Can I combine solar panels with a charging station?
Yes. With a smart charging station you charge your car with your own solar power.
